Those status updates I never make...

I'm kind of weird about facebook - I love seeing the status updates about the crazy things that other people (or their children) are doing. I have told people before that half of the reason I'm still on fb is to see the updates that my older brother posts about his kids...they are hilarious.  As for me, I think about posting, but I usually just don't. I think that part of it is that I'm one of those people without a smartphone so I would actually have to drop what I was doing to go to the computer and post. I think the other part is the fear that nobody really actually wants to hear what I have to say and I'd just become one of those people whose posts you hide from your newsfeed. Since I'm not posting them there, I thought I might dump some here...

...Any day of the week...

Does anybody rent out dogs for families with young kids? I need one every day for an hour at dinner time.

The cats sometimes try to eat the dropped food, but they are way too picky. (Jan 21, 2014)

Pip had his first tantrum today. He realized that his sippy cup was empty and threw it down on the floor in front of him.  Then he did it again.

No, we didn't actually photograph his first tantrum, but that was the offending sippy cup. (Christmas 2013)

Early January...

Those front two teeth that have been making our boy miserable for a month finally popped through! There goes the toothless grin.

Any time during the teething process...

Kids can get by with 4 teeth, right? We don't really need to continue with this teething process, do we?

8 months old...

Phillip has discovered the cat water bowl...uh oh

The kid loves water...in a mixing bowl over the summer (Jun 22, 2013 - 5 months)

Then...

Pip has figured out how to semi-gracefully crawl face first down the step from the kitchen to the shop...the things he'll do in pursuit of the cat bowls

Then...

Apparently Pip's teachers at daycare have been teaching him how to negotiate steps...awesome!!! he turned around to go down the step in pursuit of the cat bowls...not so awesome

...

Pip has been taking the going backwards down steps thing to the extreme...he now turns around in the middle of the kitchen and goes backwards for the last 5 feet before going down the step. I've also caught him turning around when he passes from one floor covering to another (carpet-->wood; wood-->tile)...you can never be to sure.

...

I caught Pip approaching the stairs in reverse today.  Thing is, he was getting ready to go up them.

...sometime in January...

Parental fail of the day...I taught my kid how to open the cat food canister. What was I thinking??

....

January 16...

He's walking!!!

December...

Learned over Christmas: Mardi Gras beads are some of the best toys ever.  Shiny, easy to grab and fun swing around. They make fun sounds when run over other materials and are also great for sorting. Best part - they are molded onto the strand itself.  If they break you haven't just presented your child with a million choking hazards and yourself with a gigantic mess.

And he just woke up from his nap...I'll try adding more photos later.

  3. I usually refrain from posting because I feel my true thoughts will offend more than 50% of my fb friends. However, in regard to posting about your kid and ppl unsubscribing from you, I say who cares! Let them unsubscribe! Anyway, I'm glad you did some catching up here!
